Privacy Policy

01Who we are

Hafnium AI is provided by Hafnium AI ApS, Ny Adelgade 5A, 2. tv., 1104 Copenhagen, Denmark, CVR number 45958302 ("Hafnium", "we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

02The data we collect

Account data

• Email address, which you use to sign in.
• Name (first and last name), shown in your account menu.
• User ID, the unique identifier of your account.
• Organisation membership and role: the name and identifier of the organisation your account belongs to, and your role in it (for example, member or administrator).

Content and settings saved to your account

• The watches you create (a name and the phrases you ask us to look for in the news), the matches they produce, and the alerts delivered to you.
• Your saved news views and your theme preference.

We use this only to provide the features you ask for.

Device identifiers

• Push notification token: if you allow notifications, the token your device gives us so we can send you alerts.
• Analytics device ID: a random identifier created by our analytics tool when the app is first used, and kept for that installation.

Neither is Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) or vendor identifier, and we do not read either.

Approximate location

We know the approximate location (city and country) you use the service from. It comes from two places: our authentication provider records it for each sign-in session, and our analytics tool derives it from your IP address when it receives an event, then discards the IP address. We never collect your precise location.

Usage data

• Product interaction: the pages you open and the features you use, such as opening a headline, applying a filter or creating a watch.
• Session recordings: we record how you move through the app (the screens you see, where you tap and scroll) to understand where the product is hard to use. Text displayed on screen is recorded. Anything you type is masked and never recorded. Network requests and console logs are not captured.

Crash and error data

If the app hits an unexpected error, we receive the error message and technical details about where in the app it happened, so we can fix it. We do not collect general console logs.

Data that stays on your device

Some settings are stored only on your device and are not sent to us: the assets, markets and company sizes you choose in Settings, your watchlist, your chart layout and your onboarding progress.

03What we do not do

• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not show advertising and do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not use Apple's advertising identifier.

04How we use your data, and our legal basis

Usage and crash data are linked to your account, so we can understand problems in context. They are used only by Hafnium, for the purposes above.

To stop receiving emails about new features, use the unsubscribe link in any of those emails or write to privacy@hafnium.ai. You will still receive messages needed to run your account, such as sign-in emails.

05Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions:

• Clerk (authentication): stores your account data, handles sign-in and records sign-in sessions. Data location: United States.
• PostHog (product analytics, session recordings and error tracking): receives usage, recording and crash data through our own domain, v.hafnium.ai. Data location: European Union.
• Scaleway (hosting of our servers and the web app). Data location: Paris, France.
• Cloudflare (network and content delivery for our analytics domain): processes technical connection data, such as IP addresses, to deliver requests securely.
• Vercel (management of our domain name, DNS).

Push notifications to iPhone are delivered through Apple's push notification service, which receives your push notification token and the alert.

Some of these providers are based in, or may process data in, the United States. For those transfers we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where a provider is not certified under it.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, for example to comply with a court order.

06How long we keep data

• Account data, content and settings: for as long as your account exists. When your account is deleted, we delete this data within 30 days, backups included, except where the law requires us to keep it longer.
• Usage data, session recordings and crash data: no longer than 12 months, then deleted.

07Your rights

You have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy of it;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data, including for product analytics, session recordings and emails about new features;
• receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@hafnium.ai. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Denmark this is the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), www.datatilsynet.dk.

08Deleting your account

To delete your account, email privacy@hafnium.ai from the email address you sign in with, and say that you want your account deleted. If your account was set up by your organisation, you can also ask your organisation's administrator to request it for you.

We confirm the request and delete your account. This removes your account data and the content saved to it, as described in section 6.

09Security

All data sent between the app and our services is encrypted in transit. Access to personal data is limited to the people at Hafnium who need it to run and support the service.

10Children

Hafnium AI is a professional service for financial markets and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices change. We will change the date at the top, and if the changes are significant we will tell you in the app or by email.
